Vector Drive Systems Inc. was awarded by CSA for the highest certification current rating on VFDs assembled in our plant, at 1800 Amps in March of 2001. The company is specialized in the design and manufacturing of industrial duty VFD inverter systems. One of our larger systems completed in 2000 has [6] six 300HP centrifuge drives. The integrated system is fully regenerative and uses the Yaskawa/MagneTek Modular G5 series inverters with an IGBT front end. That means zero to minimal generated harmonics because of the special IGBT front end.

Vector Drive Systems is also active in the sales of Yaskawa Electric's "SF6" gas switchgear, in both breaker format and also 200A and 400A contactors. Design and fabrication takes place at the Yukuhashi Works located on Kyushu, the most southerly of the Japanese archipelago. Corporate management has worked closely with Yaskawa America since 1984 and was first in British Columbia to support and sell the first and second generation VFDs.

From the early days of VFD sales into British Columbia and Alberta, we have collaborated with Yaskawa to advance VFD ratings into the 600V class. More recently Vector has broadened the applications of the Modular inverters by enhancing a design for common DC bus c/w an 850VDC isolating switch. The New Modular inverters cover a range of 200HP through to 1800HP and are rated up to 600V class.

Vector is a dedicated VFD specialist, with Yaskawa trained technicians to help you commission your new inverter systems. Full Commissioning Reports are generated as part of our site services, as well as in depth training if desired. Please do give us a request for a Vector "Training CD", your maintenance staff can really use the new information. In addition we have the ability to come in and troubleshoot other VFD makes. We can solve noise or harmonics issues and reliability problems at your plant with your people.
